AI, Retinus and Police
Retinus’ mission is to help those who help us. Our goal is to make sure our first responders, military and security personnel are safe utilizing our technologies. Being a police officer is not easy, and today’s environment does not help that fact. Our technology not only works to keep the officers safe, but citizens as well.
Beginning with our smart watch wearables, as we touched on with the firefighters, Commander Dashboard can monitor their personnel including location and health metrics. This is super important should the officer not be in their vehicle. Knowing where they are on the ground and monitoring their movement and health data, Command can be alerted if something is happening. If there is a sudden spike in heart rate, or their location is not where they are supposed to be, back up can be alerted to respond quickly to the situation at hand.
Our next innovation is with our personal vehicle protection software, or PVP. PVP provides 360 degree monitoring on vehicles powered by AI technology. It can detect other vehicles, people, and even weapons. Enabling officers to know their surroundings allows them to be fully aware, and to help avoid any potential accidents involving pedestrians and other vehicles. Weapons detection may be the most important feature of PVP, alerting not only the officer in the vehicle, but the Command center as well. Response time in moments like this is crucial. Every second counts, and the sooner the perpetrator can be subdued, the greater the potential to save lives.
We did not stop there though; we are bringing AI to body cams. Body cams are especially important not only for transparency in the relationship of officers and citizens, but also can work as evidentiary support in cases. With the same AI detection on individuals as vehicles, crowd safety can be improved vastly. Not only is weapons detection on the table, but facial recognition technology can be used to identify those who may be under surveillance or identify persons of interest. Body cams lead to an overall reduction in violent outcomes and an increased level of trust.
Our AI is always developing, and we do not plan to slow down anytime soon. Retinus tech can recognize patterns and predict areas that may need more attention. This is exceptional because now jurisdictions will be able to staff accordingly and know where the danger zones are. Knowing that these hot spots will be patrolled more efficiently will assist in lowering the overall crime rate and provide a better sense of security for the neighborhood.
There are a million ways artificial intelligence can provide comfort, safety, and peace of mind for officers and citizens alike. Improving relations amongst officers and the neighborhoods they protect is incredibly important. Anything we can do to help bridge gaps and improve the lives of first responders and our community at large, we will do it.
